General Meeting Highlights
May 3, 2008
學校於五月三日舉行家長大會。董事長, 張書平, 及校長, 符時華, 回顧一年以來的校務, Rene Yip 報告學校財政。其它重要的事件包括Year book, 募款活動及下學期的學費。下一學年的行政人員的選舉也在此家長大會完成。董事長,張書平感謝熱心的家長來繼任, 繼續的改良我們的學校。
Both the chair of the Board, Dr. Shu-Ping Chang and our principal, Dr. Shiwa Fu, reviewed the accomplishments of the past year and the upcoming challenges faced by our school. During the meeting, we elected the board of directors for the upcoming school year, as well as the vice principal and treasurer. Dr. Shu-Ping thanked the parent volunteers for carrying on the torch of the NWCS.
Next, board member, Mr. Rene Yip walked through the financial status of the school. The year book distribution method was discussed, and more fund raising ideas were brought up including the tuition increase of $75 for the next academic year. Q&A session followed.

In light of the recent devastating earthquake in Sichuan, China, the Tzu-Chi Foundation, of which several of our teachers and parents are members, is organizing a fundraising event. They will be at our school this Saturday, May 17th, accepting donations. click here for more details ...

早餐聚會 Breakfast Club
我們的早餐聚會是家長自願者來舉辦的。 她們每周購物,所以每周六我們的學生可以享受可口的早點。現在早餐聚會也賣又新鮮又好吃的便當, 解決午餐的煩惱。
Our breakfast club is run by a group of volunteers who are parents of our students. Every week they go to different stores and purchase delicious bread, chips, 100% fruit juice, water bottles, coffee, etc. and bring them to school.
Most of us have benefited from their hard work. Recently, the breakfast club started to sell lunch boxes, which solved the "what's for lunch?" problem for many of us. All profits are donated to the school. We thank you for your support.
畢業典禮和新年晚會 Graduation and New Year Celebration DVD On Sale
Starting this Saturday, May 17, You can get this DVD with wonderful memories and precious performances for only $10. The "Data DVD" also contains class pictures and other 2007-2008 NWCS activity pictures. Please place your order this Saturday.
Furniture Sale ...
Gorgeous furniture for sale. 20% of proceeds will be donated to NWCS school.
Bake Sales ...
Special thanks to Janice Zhu who generously agreed to provide the bakery goods at discounted prices. Portion of the proceeds will go to help our school. Thanks again to those who participated.

Many parents find it a challenge to keep up with learning Chinese, myself included, and I speak and write Chinese. So I can understand whole heartedly, what a challenge it is for families that do not speak Chinese at home. Ann Daw shares her story.
