School Rules

為了確保本學期的順利進展，我們在此提醒各位同學及家長遵守校規，尤其是不能在教室裏吃東西。教室裏的物品，器材絕對禁止觸動。謝謝大家的合作。

Please continue to observe the school rules and follow the code of conduct throughout the semester. No food or drinks are allowed in the classrooms. Do not touch, move or disrupt any classroom materials or equipment. We need everyone's cooperation to ensure a successful semester.

教師會議

Teachers' Meeting

本周六本校將舉辦一場教師會議。重點議題是新教材與課本。如果您在這方面有任何意見或疑問，歡迎您跟您的老師溝通。會議討論的內容將在每週通訊上刊登。

A teachers' meeting will be held this Saturday, March 3. In the meeting we will discuss the new teaching materials and textbooks, and distribution of the materials. If you would like to express any concerns or suggestions, please talk to your teacher. The meeting notes will be published in a forthcoming newsletter.

我們歡迎新任摺紙班教師張世材及成人中文班教師康宇偉。

We welcome two new teachers, ShiCai Zhang for the Origami class, and Robert Candee for the Adult Chinese class.

財務捐獻

Financial Donations Received

在寒假期間，本校接獲校友 Eric Chu 及Pepsi BottlingGroup 的財務捐獻共達一千一百元。由於 Eric Chu 的一百元的捐獻， Pepsi Bottling Group 的配合款達到一千元。我們在此深表謝意。

We received a $1,100 donation from Pepsi Bottling Group (PGB) and Eric Chu during the winter break. Thanks to Eric Chu, an NWCS alumni, who made a donation of $100 that was matched by PGB with $1000!

古箏班表演

Gu Zheng Performance

本校古箏班上周六在白原市盛大的中國新年晚會中有非常精彩的演出。讓我們在此恭喜所有參加演出的同學： Kim Chen, Elisabeth Clemmons, Jessica Schaefer, Julia Sheng-Shih 及 Kathryn Sheng-Shih。古箏班的指導老師是 Tiffany Chen。

Congratulations to the students in NWCS's Gu Zheng Ensemble for their excellent performance at last Saturday's Chinese New Year Party in White Plains, sponsored by the OCA and regional Chinese language schools. The group played "Travel Music" and "The Great Wall." Tiffany Chen expertly directed the group composed of Kim Chen, Elisabeth Clemmons, Jessica Schaefer, Julia Sheng-Shih and Kathryn Sheng-Shih.

Now Seeking Candidates

為籌備下學年的開始，本校目前在尋覓適當的人選來接替校長，副校長，祕書，財務，董事等多項職位。北威近四十年的優久歷史完全要歸功於所有熱心的家長們對學校無私的服務及參與。我們在此呼籲每一位家長挺身參與學校的事務。如果您有興趣，或有意推薦人選，請向校長張振坤聯係。

The school is now seeking candidates for several administrative positions, including Principal, Vice Principal, Secretary, Treasurer, and five board members. NWCS is strictly a volunteer based operation. Since 1969, NWCS parents have given freely of their time to support the school in its educational mission. We encourage all parents to become involved in school affairs, and to carry our school forward to the next year. If you are interested in a more active role in the school, or know someone who may be interested, please contact the principal, CK Chang.

下學年新校址

New School Location

由於 Somers School 下學年無法繼續讓我們租用，過去幾個月來本校的董事們廣泛的尋求新校址。目前我們正在跟 Briarcliff Manor School 進行租約協商。學校了解這個新地點將會對部分的北威家庭造成不便，因此希望能盡可能幫助大家解決困難。學校將于三月十日舉辦座談會，學校董事及校長將在場為大家目前協商的進度，以及解答大家的疑問。座談會將于九點半在 220 室舉行。歡迎大家踊躍參加。

As most of you are aware, NWCS will be relocated for the next school year. Currently the school is in the final contract negotiation stage with Briarcliff Manor School. We are fully aware of the potential inconvenience this move might cause for some families, and will try our best to ease the difficulties associated with the move for you. A town hall meeting will take place on 03/10/2007 to address any concerns or questions you may have. Our board members and the principal will be there. Everyone is welcome to attend. The meeting will start at 9:30 in Room 220.

兒童唱遊班

Pre-K Activity Hour

Pre-K 兒童唱遊班（每週六十一時至十二時）將繼續舉辦，地點是 229 室。活動內容包括勞作，說故事，看影片。所有Pre-K 的同學都歡迎參加。

The Pre-K Activity Hour (11:00-12:00) will resume this week in Room 229. Activities will include making Chinese Dragons, reading stories about the Chinese New Year, and watching the film New Year in Ping Wei. All Pre-K students and their parents are welcome to join us!

Yearbook Preparation

本學年校刊將于五月十九日出刊。請各位老師注意，校刊截稿日期是三月三十一日。請將您的材料准備齊全交給本校祕書王雅芬。

The 2006-07 yearbook will be published on 05/19/2007. Attention, teachers: the deadline for submitting the materials for your class is 03/31/2007. Please contact Ms Felicia Wang, the Secretary, if you have any questions.
