家長大會
General Meeting
家長大會將于本周六九點半舉行。 大會議題包括學校財務， 下學年校址， 及現階段校務報告。 請各位家長務必參加並提供您的意見。 大會中將有點心提供。
The General Meeting will take place this Saturday at 9:30. The meeting agenda includes discussion of the school's financial status, an update of the new school location and the current state of the school. All parents are encouraged to attend the meeting. Your opinion is greatly appreciated. Refreshments will be provided.
財務捐獻
Financial Donation
本校日前獲得某位不記名家長慷慨捐贈四千元。 這項捐獻將用來改善本校的教材及設備。 我們在此感謝這位家長對北威中文學校的大力支持。
NWCS has received a donation of $4,000 from an anonymous parent. The donation will be used to improve our teaching materials and equipment. We greatly appreciate this parent's generosity and support for our School!
新購數位投影機
New Digital Projector
由於上述的捐獻， 本校新近添購一台數位投影機以供教學及會議用途。 如果各位老師需要借用這項器材， 請跟校長聯係。 我們也在此感謝蘇紋騏先生購買數位投影機時， 為了替學校節省 $350 於半夜兩點半起床到商店排了三個小時的隊。 蘇先生的熱忱實在令人感動。
With the donation mentioned above, we have purchased a digital projector for our school's teaching and meeting functions. If any teacher needs the equipment for your class, please contact the Vice Principal to make arrangements. We would also like to thank Oliver Siu, who got up at 2:30 a.m. on Black Friday and waited in line for more than 3 hours to save the school more than $350 on the purchase of this equipment!

Potential Merger

On Sunday, 11/12/2006, an NWCS representative team consisting of board members, administration staff and parents visited the Ye-Dar Chinese School of Scarsdale. The purpose of this visit was to introduce our organization, mission, curriculum and community to Ye-Dar, and to explore the possibility of merging the two schools so that we can better share resources and expand our community. The meeting was very productive. They will present NWCS to their parents in their general meeting. If you have any concerns or questions regarding this matter, please contact the principal, Mr. CK Chang.

Holiday Sale
耶誕佳節即將來臨。 本校將于十二月九日及十六日再次舉辦募款活動。 募款活動的內容是銷售耶誕禮品。 您可以在十點到十二點之間到學校餐廳來採購過節禮品， 既省時間又省錢。 我們需要大家捐贈家裏沒有用過的物品或是多餘的禮品。 與中華文化有關的物品更是歡迎。 請將這些禮品于十二月九日及十六日 9:45 之前帶到學校餐廳。 禮品銷售將于十點到十二點舉行。 禮品定價保證物美價廉。 所有銷售的款項將捐贈給學校。 請大家多多支持這項募款活動。
With the Holiday Season around the corner, NWCS is conducting its second annual holiday fundraising sale event in the cafeteria on 12/09/2006 and 12/16/2006 from 10:00 to 12:00. Imagine this - holiday shopping with gifts priced below retail value, and without traffic or long lines! NWCS will need your help to make this successful. NWCS is looking for as many families as possible to donate new, unwrapped gifts. (i.e. gifts from your closets or storage that you would love to give away.) Gifts related to Chinese culture are especially appreciated. Bring your new, unwrapped gifts to the cafeteria from 9:00-9:45 on the 9th and 16th; then return at 10:00, shop and buy as much as you like. Take life easy! Shop, save and help support NWCS at the same time.

Class Pictures
本周起您可以在學校餐廳購買班級照片。 第一張照片三元， 每加買一張兩元。 您也可以購買 CD， 一張十元。 CD 裏包括所有班級的照片，上學期期末野餐會及新年晚會的照片。 銷售所得將歸入學校經費。 我們在此感謝攝影師蘇紋騏的精彩照片。
The class pictures for 2006 have been published, thanks to the excellent work of our photographer, Oliver Siu. All the pictures are splendid and beautifully done. Don't miss the opportunity to take home some beautiful memories, and support our Chinese school. The price for the pictures is $3.00 for the first one, and $2.00 for each additional picture. CD's, which include pictures of all classes, the 2006 summer picnic and the New Year's party, are available for $10.00 each. Please place your order with the Registrar, Mrs. Lu.

畢業典禮暨新年晚會
Graduation and New Year's
請家長與老師們開始準備畢業典禮暨新年晚會的表演節目﹐ 並將節目名稱及細節於 十二月十六日前向副校長符時華報備。 這是一個讓小朋友, 大朋友用中文展現才藝 及同樂的機會。 我們也期待所有北威的家庭能在一起共度新年佳節。
All class parents and teachers, please start planning your programs for the New Year's Party and Graduation Ceremony. Please submit the details of your program to the Vice Principal, Mr. Shiwa Fu, by 12/16/2006. This is a great opportunity for all kids to show off their talent at using Chinese! This is also a traditional event for all NWCS families to celebrate the New Year together. Your participation is greatly appreciated.
