家長大會

General Meeting

家長大會將于十二月二日九點半舉行。大會議題包括學校財務，下學年校址，及現階段校務報告。請各位家長務必參加並提供您的意見。大會中將有點心提供。

The General Meeting will take place at 9:30 on 12/02/2006. The meeting agenda includes discussion of the school's financial status, an update of the new school location and the current state of the school. All parents are encouraged to attend the meeting. Your opinion is greatly appreciated. Refreshments will be provided.

Teacher Assignment Updates

讓我們歡迎書法課新任教師劉聖詩。這門課的原任教師陳怡心已教授逾二十年。讓我們在此對陳怡心女士表示最高敬意，並祝她退休愉快。

1B班的助教即日起由陳瑞卿老師擔任。原任助教呂美能將擔任家長聯係網的??協調人。呂美能女士也大力參與本校的早餐會。我們也感謝呂女士過去多次為學校代課。

Let us welcome our new Calligraphy teacher Sheng-Shih Liu, formerly the teaching assistant, who is stepping in to take on the teaching role since Mrs. Yi-Hsin Chen has decided to retire. Mrs. Yi-Hsin Chen has taught this class for more than 20 years! Let us salute Mrs. Chen and wish her the best!

Ms. Ruey-Ching Chen has taken over the teaching assistant position for Class 1B, starting 11/04/2006, as a replacement for Joyce Liu. Joyce will now lead our Parents Communication Network in addition to her active role in our wonderful Breakfast Club. Thanks to Mrs. Lu for her substituting in many classes.

Please note that the location for Kung Fu Class has been changed to Room 231, and the Dance and Song Class to Room 229.

兩校合併

Potential Merger

上周日，本校的董事，校長及家長代表與 Scarsdale 育德中文學校的代表會面商談兩校合併的可能性。我們介紹北威的大家庭，學校組織，目標，及課程內容。如果兩校合併，我們將能更有效的運用資源，並擴展學校的規模。這次會談非常有成效。 Ye-Dar將在他們的家長大會中介紹北威。如果您有任何疑問，請跟校長張振坤聯係。

Last Sunday, 11/12/2006, an NWCS representative team consisting of board members, administration staff and parents visited the Ye-Dar Chinese School of Scarsdale. The purpose of this visit was to introduce our organization, mission, curriculum and community to Ye-Dar, and to explore the possibility of merging the two schools so that we can better share resources and expand our community. The meeting was very productive. They will present NWCS to their parents in their general meeting. If you have any concerns or questions regarding this matter, please contact the principal, Mr. CK Chang.

尋找新校址進度報告

School Site Search Update

尋找新校址的專任小組已有相當大的進展。專任小組成員目前正在評估兩個可能的地點：一個是 Briarcliff Middle School （在 Taconic 到 Pleasantville Road 上），另一個是 JFK Catholic High School （離現在地點只有1.5英里）。我們將在十二月二日的家長大會中報告最終決定。

The New School Site Search Team has made good progress. The team is evaluating the prospects of two candidates: the Briarcliff Middle School (Taconic to Pleasantville Road) and the JFK Catholic High School (about 1.5 miles from our current school, right on Rt. 138). The final decision will be presented at our general meeting on 12/02/2006.

Class Pictures

本周起您可以在學校餐廳購買班級照片。第一張照片三元，每加買一張兩元。銷售所得將歸入學校經費。我們在此感謝攝影師蘇紋騏的精彩照片。

Class pictures will be available for purchase this week in the cafeteria. There is a $3 charge for the first picture and $2 for each additional picture. Sales proceeds will be contributed to the school operations fund. We thank our photographer, Olive Su, for his outstanding work!

Asia for Kids Book Fair

本校將舉辦圖書銷售。銷售內容請看本週發給學生的“Asia for Kids”目錄。 Asia for Kids 是一個教育性的機構，旨在促進亞裔文化及語言。它的圖書目錄涵蓋豐富的書籍文物。如果您有興趣訂購，請于十一月十八日將目錄中的訂購單交給您孩子的老師。本校將透過您的購買受惠。

NWCS will be conducting a Book Fair program through Asia for Kids. Asia for Kids is an organization that offers educational products to facilitate learning of Asian language and culture. Please see in this week's handout to the students, selected pages from the Asia for Kids catalog. If you wish to place an order, please fill out the order form, with a check payable to NWCS, and return to your teacher by 11/18/2006. A portion of your purchase will go to the benefit of NWCS.
