家長大會改期

General Meeting Re-scheduled

家長大會將由十一月十八日改期至十二月二日。學校需要更多時間來准備財務報告及尋找新校址的報告。如果您有任何疑問，請跟張校長聯係。

The General Meeting has been re-scheduled to 12/2/06. This will allow us to gather more complete information on the search for a new school location and to prepare the school's financial report. Contact the Principal, Mr. CK Chang, if you have any concerns.

教師職變動

Teacher Assignment Updates

讓我們歡迎書法課新任教師劉聖詩。這門課的原任教師陳怡心已教授逾二十年。讓我們在此對陳怡心女士表示最高敬意，並祝她退休愉快。

1B班的助教即日起由陳瑞卿老師擔任。原任助教呂美能將擔任家長聯係網的??協調人。呂美能女士也大力參與本校的早餐會。我們也感謝呂女士過去多次為學校代課。

Let us welcome our new Calligraphy teacher Sheng-Shih Liu, formerly the teaching assistant, who is stepping in to take on the teaching role since Mrs. Yi-Hsin Chen has decided to retire. Mrs. Yi-Hsin Chen has taught this class for more than 20 years! Let us salute Mrs. Chen and wish her the best!

Ms. Ruey-Ching Chen has taken over the teaching assistant position for Class 1B, starting 11/4/06, as a replacement for Joyce Liu. Joyce will now lead our Parents Communication Network in addition to her active role in our wonderful Breakfast Club. Thanks to Mrs. Lu for her substituting in many classes.

聖誕節芭蕾舞劇

Holiday Event

Performances of The Nutcracker, a production of the Westchester Ballet Company, will be held at the Westchester County Center. Experience the magic by purchasing your tickets through the Northern Westchester Chinese School. A portion of the ticket sales through our school will go towards NWCS fund-raising. Tickets will be sold at the cafeteria on 11/04/06 and 11/11/06. 尋找新校址進度報告

School Site Search Update

尋找新校址的專任小組已有相當大的進展。專任小組成員目前正在評估兩個可能的地點：一個是 Briarcliff Middle School （在 Taconic 到 Pleasantville Road 上），另一個是 JFK Catholic High School （離現在地點只有1.5英里）。我們將在十二月二日的家長大會中報告最終決定。

The New School Site Search Team has made good progress. The team is evaluating the prospects of two candidates: the Briarcliff Middle School (Taconic to Pleasantville Road) and the JFK Catholic High School (about 1.5 miles from our current school, right on Rt. 138). The final decision will be presented at our general meeting on 12/02/06.

免費兒童唱遊班

Free Dance and Song Class

兒童唱遊班著重在教唱兒歌，用中文來玩常見的遊戲，比如 Duck, Duck, Goose; Simon Says。此外，每週的活動還包括說故事及看中文影片，如美美教中文，大鳥在中國，唐人街一日遊。如果您的孩子有興趣，請跟 Connie 聯係（845-855-1266）。

This relaxing, play-based weekly session will teach Chinese rhymes and songs. Children will learn common games in Chinese (Duck, Duck, Goose; Simon Says). Each week the class will include story-time and video watching. "Mei Mei Teaches Chinese", "Big Bird in China" adn "A Day in Chinatown" are just a few of our videos, and wehave lots of Disney, Hello Kitty, and Sailor Moon videos. 教室陪讀

Parents in Classrooms

家長如果有意在課堂內陪讀，必須事前取得教師的許可，並須遵守課堂上的規則，不得干擾學生的學習。如果家長有不遵守規則的情形，校方將要求家長離開教室。

Parents who wish to sit in on a class must obtain permission from the teacher in advance. If permission is granted, parents are expected to follow the same classroom code of conduct applicable to students. The school retains the right to ask parents to leave the classroom should it become necessary.

Asia for Kids Book Fair

NWCS will be conducting a Book Fair program through Asia for Kids. Asia for Kids is an organization that offers educational products to facilitate learning of Asian language and culture. Please see in this week's handout to the students, selected pages from the Asia for Kids catalog. If you wish to place an order, please fill out the order form, with a check payable to NWCS, and return to your teacher by 11/18/06. A portion of your purchase will go to the benefit of NWCS.
