本學期家長大會已順利於五月六日舉行。會中投票決定選出新任學校幹部。

本校開放參觀日

NWCS Open House

本校將于六月十日對外開放， 歡迎有興趣的家庭來校參觀。 請大家廣泛告知親朋好友。 在參觀日我們將展示各班學生的作品， 並有餐點招待。 希望大家踴躍參加。

NWCS will host an Open House on 06/10/06. Please invite your friends who might be interested in sending their children to our school. Students' work from each class, including the electives, will be displayed. There will also be a tour of the school. New Year Party video will be shown in the cafeteria. Refreshments provided by parents will be served. All are welcome.

NWCS Surveys: Deadline 5/20/06

問卷調查截止日期是五月二十日。 請尚未交卷的家長儘快將填好的問卷交到辦公室。 問卷可自學校網站下載， 如果您需要空白問卷， 請到辦公室索取。 我們也在此向已經交卷的家長道謝。

The last day for submitting the survey will be 05/20/06. We'd like to thank those who have already turned in the survey. Softcopies for parents and for students are available for download from our school website. If you need paper copies, please come to the office.

期末野餐/體育趣味競賽

Year-End Picnic/Sports Day

本年期末野餐將包括體育趣味競賽， 有賽跑， 接力等項目， 學生將採混合編組。 有興趣幫忙的家長， 請與副校長尚業敏聯絡。

This year we will have Sports Day along with the Year-End picnic. Each grade will be split randomly - not by class - into two teams, red and blue. There will be races, relays, and other fun activities for everyone (adults too!) to participate and enjoy. If you have ideas for an activity or would like to join the Sports Day Committee, please contact Kelly Lin by phone or e-mail at kshang_1999@yahoo.com.

今日舉行北威作文比賽

Academic (Writing) Contest Today!

本學年的寫作比賽將在二○○六年五月十三日上午九點三十至十二點在二二○教室舉行。 本次比賽不須提前報名。 比賽的同學將從預選之提示中擇一作文。 比賽成績前三名者將發給獎狀， 其他則發給參加獎。歡迎全班參加比賽。 請學生踴躍報名參加。

The school-wide academic (writing) contest will be held in Room 220 this week, 5/13/2006, at 9:30-12:00. Teachers are encouraged to bring their whole classes to participate. No pre-registration is required. Students will be able to choose from various topics. All participants will receive a Certificate of Participation. There will be three winners in each level. Placement Certificate and prizes will be awarded at a later date.

Wireless Connection: Today!

想用電腦連接與 Somers Middle School 無線網路的家長， 請於本週六， 五月十三日 9:30 至 11:00 至壹樓 "Technology Office" 安裝，只需五分鐘。 請先與張榮聯絡。

Somers Middle High School has again agreed to help us enable our laptops to access the Internet via its wireless network this Saturday, 5/13/06, from 9:30 to 11:00 in the Technology Office on the first floor. This should take less than 5 minutes per laptop. Interested parents please contact Mr. Rong Chang, and bring your laptop to school next week.

There are multiple openings at our school for teachers. If you are interested in teaching language, arts, or Chinese Social Studies, or know someone who may be interested, please contact the Principal, Mr. Tien-Jen Cheng.

We thank those parents who fulfilled their duty last week. Your contribution is greatly appreciated. Again, please check the Parents On-duty Roster in advance, and report to the team leader on time on the day of your duty.

演講公告

Acupressure Seminar

下周六 (五月二十日) 執業針灸醫師關秉慧將來本校做第三場幼兒指壓的演講。 關醫師將復習前兩次演講的內容,並強調增加兒童腦功能,及藉指壓來處理幼兒一般病痛。 應家長要求，演講改至十點到十二點，地點在220教室。 關醫師精通中文，英文及廣東話。 上一場演講獲得熱烈好評，歡迎大家踴躍參加。

The last series of 3 to be held on 5/20. The seminar will recap what was covered in the last 2 sessions. It will focus on increasing children's brain functions and common pain management through accupressure massage. Due to many requests, the seminar will be from 10am to 12pm to accommodate everyone who can come before and/or after 11am. Some topics will repeat in the second hour. Please come and join us in Room 220.
