遵守教室規則

Proper Classroom Conduct

Somers Middle School (SMS) 上週發現有一間教室裏的鎖受到破壞，以及 VCR 不堪使用。這類事件將會嚴重影響本校跟 SMS 之間的關係，甚至損害我們租用 SMS 的權利。請所有的家長及同學遵守教室裏應有的規則 - 不可擦拭黑板上的字，也不可以亂動教室裏的東西。謝謝大家的合作。

The Somers Middle School (SMS) informed us that the lock of a cabinet and a VCR in one of the classrooms were damaged. This kind of incident damages our relationship with SMS and may even jeopardize our right to use the school. We ask that all parents and students follow the rules in the classroom: do not erase any SMS teacher's writing or disturb classroom materials. We need everyone's cooperation!

課外輔導

Tutoring Service

我們目前有二位輔導員可以幫助您的孩子。如果您有興趣，請帶您的孩子十一點下課后到 220 室，找蘇莎莉老師報到。我們還需要更多的輔導員。十或十一年級的同學如果有興趣，請到辦公室或向副校長尚業敏報名。

We currently have two tutors available to help students with their homework. Please come to talk to Ms. Sa-Li Su in Room 220. We need more tutors!! Anyone in the 10th or 11th grades is encouraged to become a tutor. If you are interested, please come to Room 220 at 11:00, or sign up with Ms Kelly Shang, the Vice Principal.

中華文化隊本週開始

Chinese Culture Team Starts This Week

歡迎本校八到十一年級的同學加入中華文化隊。你將會學習古詩，成語，人物史實，地理，飲食，國劇，文學，中醫等題材。這支文化隊將于明年五月代表本校與其他中文學校競賽。競賽模式是摸擬 “Jeopardy”。有興趣的同學請向校長報名。所有的隊員將于十一點在 228 室集合，由孫旭輝老師指導。

We welcome students from grades 8 to 11 to join this team. Team members will learn Chinese poetry, history, geography, food and cuisine, opera, literature, medicine, and related topics. The Team will represent NWCS at the ACS Annual Meeting (Memorial Day weekend 2006)乸nd will compete with other student groups from Chinese schools in the Northeast. The competition will be in a "Jeopardy" style. Practices will be held from 11:00 to 12:00 in Room 228. Teacher is Mr. Hsu Huei Sun. Interested students please sign up with the Principal.

中文學校協會獎勵

ACS Scholarship

凡是 SAT II (中文) 考試滿分 (800 分) 及在本校學習五年的同學，都可獲得中文學校協會的獎勵，請速與校長鄭天人連絡辦理申請。

The ACS is honoring students who score a full 800 points on the SAT II Chinese Test and who have attended our school for five years. Please contact our Principal, Mr. Cheng, to apply for the scholarship.

校刊編輯籌備事項

Yearbook Preparation

本學年校刊將于五月二十日出刊。請尚未交稿的老師儘快將稿件給本校祕書王雅芬。畢業班家長請注意，如果您有意在校刊上為畢業生留言祝福，請跟校長鄭天人聯係。

The yearbook will be published on May 20. Teachers: if you have not done so already, please submit the materials for your class as soon as possible! Contact Felicia Wang, the secretary, for any questions. Parents of the graduating classes (Grade 7th, 10th, and 12th): for a small fee, you can post messages to your child in the yearbook. Please contact the Principal, Mr. Cheng, for details.

If you have never received any e-mail from NWCS, that means the school does not have your e-mail address!
