親情園地研習班

Parenting Workshop

北威親情園地第七期將在3月11日開班。這為期十週的親職研習班，由林安禮老師主持，以小組分享的方式進行，內容包括親子溝通、子女管教、價值觀、青少年心理、性教育等。歡迎所有關心親子問題的父母親參加。林安禮老師，心理輔導碩士，在台灣曾擔任 “張老師電話” 義務張老師。在美從事親職教育多年。時間：週六早上 9:15 到 11:00。地點： Somers Middle School 305 室。費用： $80.00。報名：請電王台花女士 (914-737-5823).

NWCS will offer a 10-week parenting workshop beginning this week, 03/11/06, from 9:15 to 11:00 AM. The topics include effective communication, discipline, youth psychology, sex education, etc. Ms An-li Lin will be the facilitator for the workshop. The fee is $80. If you are interested in the workshop, please contact Ms Tai-hua Wang at (914) 737-5823.

Internet Connection

想用電腦連接與 Somers Middle School 無線網路的家長，請於本週六 9:30 至 11:00 至壹樓 "Technology Office" 安裝，只需五分鐘。請先與張榮聯絡。

Somers Middle High School has agreed to help us enable our laptops to access the Internet via its wireless network this Saturday, 3/11/06, from 9:30 to 11:00 in the "Technology Office" on the first floor. This should take less than 5 minutes per laptop. Interested parents please contact Mr. Rong Chang and bring your laptop to school this week.

課外輔導

Tutoring Service

我們目前有二位輔導員可以幫助您的孩子。如果您有興趣，請帶您的孩子十一點下課后到 220 室，找蘇莎莉老師報到。我們還需要更多的輔導員。十或十一年級的同學如果有興趣，請到辦公室或向副校長尚業敏報名。

We currently have two tutors available to help students with their homework. Please come to talk to Ms. Sa-Li Su in Room 220. We need more tutors!! Anyone in the 10th or 11th grades is encouraged to become a tutor. If you are interested, please come to Room 220 at 11:00, or sign up with Ms Kelly Shang, the Vice Principal.

Yearbook Preparation

The 2005-06 yearbook will be published on 05/20/06. Attention, teachers: please submit your material this week, 3/11/06. If you have any questions, please contact Ms Felicia Wang, the Secretary. Parents of the 12th grade: for a small fee, you can post messages to your child in the yearbook. Contact Mr. Tien-jen Cheng for details.

中華文化隊招生

Chinese Culture Team Recruiting

歡迎本校八到十一年級的同學加入中華文化隊。你將會學習古詩，成語，人物史實，地理，飲食，國劇，文學，中醫等題材。這支文化隊將于明年五月代表本校與其他中文學校競賽。競賽模式是摸擬 “Jeopardy”。有興趣的同學請向校長報名。所有的隊員將于十一點在 228 室集合。

We welcome students from grades 8 through 11 to join the school's Chinese Culture Team. Team members will learn Chinese poetry, history, geography, food and cuisine, opera, literature, medicine, and related topics. The Team will represent NWCS at the ACS Annual Meeting (Memorial Day weekend 2006)and will compete with other student groups from Chinese schools in the Northeast. The competition will be in a "Jeopardy" style. Interested students, please sign up with the Principal. Practices will be held from 11:00 to 12:00 in Room 228.

中文SAT模擬考試

SAT II Chinese Prep Test

這項考試將于三月十一日舉行。有意參加者請盡快報名。費用是 $7。

This test is sponsored by the National Council of Associations of Chinese Language Schools. The deadline for signing up for this test has been extended to 03/05/06. Interested students please contact the Principal. The fee is $7. The test will be held on 03/11/06 at NWCS.

中文學校協會獎勵

ACS Scholarship

凡是 SAT II (中文) 考試滿分 (800 分) 及在本校學習五年的同學，都可獲得中文學校協會的獎勵，請速與校長鄭天人連絡辦理申請。

The Association of Chinese Schools (ACS) is honoring students who score a full 800 points on the SAT II Chinese Test and who have attended our school for five years. Please contact our Principal to apply for the scholarship.
