PinYin Seminar - Continued

十一月五日本校將舉辦中文拼音專題 - 續談。主講人仍由黃允武先生擔任。上次沒有參加的家長仍然歡迎參加。專題將于十點在 220 室舉行。建議您到時帶筆記型電腦來參加。

A seminar on 5/11/05, conducted by Woody Huang, will instruct participants on using PinYin to input Chinese characters on the computer. This is a continuation of the last PinYin seminar. All are welcome to attend, even if you did not attend the first session. The seminar is from 10:00-11:00 in Room 220. It is recommended that you bring your own laptop.

家長值日

On-Duty Parents

感謝上週擔任值日的家長：何哲夫， Christoph Pittius, William Fahey, Narciso Tan。遺憾的是上週有一位家長缺席，導致學校運作多方面的困難。我們在此再度提醒各位家長：家長值日是學校運作非常重要的一環。每週我們需要五位家長負責影印，分發每週通訊，協助書法課室，及維持學校秩序和安全。任何一位家長缺席都會造成這些工作的困難。根據學校的規定，缺席的家長將會被罰款五十元。如果您因故無法出席，您必須事前安排替換人選，並通知當週的負責人或訓導主任。

We thank those parents who fulfilled their on-duty commitment last week; your contribution is greatly appreciated. However, one of the on-duty parents did not show up, which caused some difficulty for the school. We need to remind all parents that this job is crucial to the smooth operation of the school. Each week five parents are given duty assignments to staff the copy room and calligraphy room, and to maintain school order and safety. According to our school policy, a $50 fine is levied on anyone who missed their duty. If you cannot fulfill your on-duty commitment on your assigned day, you must find a replacement and inform your leader or the Counselor.

Tutoring Service

我們目前有六位輔導員可以幫助您的孩子。如果您有興趣，請帶您的孩子十一點下課后到 220 室。我們還需要更多的輔導員。十一年級的同學如果有興趣，請到辦公室或向副校長尚業敏報名。

We currently have six tutors available to help students with their homework. We need more tutors!! Anyone in the 11th grade is encouraged to become a tutor. If you are interested, please come to Room 220 at 11:00, or sign up with Ms Kelly Shang, the Vice Principal.

The first day of school for the Spring semester has been changed to March 4, 2006.

家長大會

General Meeting

本學期的家長大會將于十一月十九日上午十點舉行。由於原先選出的校長開學前因故臨時辭職，本校董事會緊急授命鄭天人先生出任校長。根據學校的規章，鄭校長仍需要經過家長大會的投票選舉才得正式確認。在此我們需要特別說明的是，傳統上這個家長大會的目的之一是選舉下學年的校長人選。為了避免產生混謠，這次的家長大會將只投票確認本年度的校長。下學年的校長選舉將延後舉行。這次的家長大會也將包括期中校務報告，財務報告，各項委員會報告，以及家長自由發言。請大家踴躍參加

A general meeting will be held on 11/19/05 at 10:00 in the school cafeteria. As everyone knows, our principal resigned shortly before the start of this semester. Consequently the NWCS board appointed Mr. Tien-Jen Cheng as the interim principal for this year. According to the school by-laws, we will hold a general election to confirm Mr. Cheng as the official principal of NWCS at this meeting. Traditionally, however, every year at this general meeting, the principal for the next school year is elected. To avoid any confusion at the upcoming meeting, the Board has decided to postpone the election for next year's principal to a later date. The agenda of this meeting also includes the state-of-the-school report from the interim principal and the treasurer, reports from various board committees, and an open forum for the public to speak.

教室陪讀

Parents in Classrooms

家長如果有意在課堂內陪讀，必須事前取得教師的許可，並須遵守課堂上的規則，不得干擾學生的學習。如果家長有不遵守規則的情形，校方將要求家長離開教室。

Parents who wish to sit in on a class must obtain permission from the teacher in advance. In the case where permission is granted, parents are expected to follow the same classroom code of conduct applicable to students. The school retains the right to ask parents to leave the classroom should it become necessary.
