老師家長座談會

Parent/Teacher Conferences

老師家長座談會將于十月二十二日上午十一時舉行。 請所有家長准時參加。 任何與您的孩子學習有關的問題都可在此與老師溝通。 各班懇親會的地點詳列在下。

Parent/teacher conferences will be held 10/22/05. This is an opportunity for you to communicate with your child's teacher about any concerns, expectations and questions you may have. Conferences will begin at 11:00. Conference rooms are as follows:

消防演習順利完成

Fire Drill: We passed!

感謝大家的合作。 消防演習時大家快速有序的離開教室大樓， 並耐性的在樓外等待。 因此我們順利通過消防演習。 恭喜大家。

Thanks to everyone for their cooperation in the fire drill on October 1. We evacuated the building in a timely and orderly fashion, and remained calm while waiting to re-enter. As a result, we passed the drill! Congratulations to all of us.

教室陪讀

Parents in Classrooms

家長如果有意在課堂內陪讀， 必須事前取得教師的許可， 並須遵守課堂上的規則， 不得干擾學生的學習。 如果家長有不遵守規則的情形， 校方將要求家長離開教室。

Parents who wish to sit in on a class must obtain permission from the teacher in advance. In the case where permission is granted, parents are expected to follow the same classroom code of conduct applicable to students. The school retains the right to ask parents to leave the classroom should it become necessary.

中文拼音專題

Seminar on PinYin

出於大家熱烈的回響， 本校將于十月十五日再度舉辦中文拼音專題。 這項專題著重如何將注音符號轉換為拼音以及可用的中文軟體。 主講人是前任校長黃允武。 這 項專題將于十到十一點在 220 室舉行。

A seminar on PinYin will be offered this week, 10/15/05, for all interested parents. Emphasis will be on converting Zhu Yin Fu Hao ("bopomofo") to PinYin. Our former principal, Woody Hwang, will conduct this informative session; he will also discuss software used for typing Chinese characters. The seminar will take place from 10:00 - 11:00 in Room 220.

The first day of school for the Spring semester has been changed to March 4, 2006.

中華文化隊招生

Chinese Culture Team

歡迎本校八到十一年級的同學加入中華文化隊。 你將會學習古詩， 成語， 人物史實， 地理， 飲食， 國劇， 文學， 中醫等題材。 這支文化隊將于明年五月代表本校與其他中文學校競賽。競賽模式是摸擬 "Jeopardy"。 有興趣的同學請在下課時到 225 室向孫旭輝先生報名。

We welcome students from grades 8 to 11 to join this team. Team members will learn Chinese poetry, history, geography, food and cuisine, opera, literature, medicine, and related topics. The Team will represent NWCS at the ACS Annual Meeting (Memorial Day weekend 2006) and will compete with student groups from other Chinese schools in the Northeast. The competition will be in a "Jeopardy" style. Please see Mr. Hsu-Huei Sun at 11:00 in Room 225 if you are interested.
