遵守教室規則

Proper Classroom Conduct

我們的房東，Somers Middle School (SMS)， 上週六 發現有一間教室裏的教材受到破壞， 以及黑板上老師寫的東西被擦拭掉。 這類事件將會嚴重影響本校跟SMS之間的??係， 甚至損害我們租用SMS的權利。 我們不能容忍這類無禮的行為再度發生。 在此我們鄭重呼籲， 請所有的家長及同學遵守教室裏應有的規則 - 不可擦拭黑板上的字， 也不可以亂動教室裏的東西。 謝謝大家的合作。

Our landlord, the Somers Middle School (SMS), made a complaint to us that, in one of the classrooms last Saturday, the teacher's writing on the board was erased and class materials were disturbed. This kind of incident damages our relationship with SMS and may even jeopardize our right to use the school. No classroom misbehavior can be tolerated. We ask that all parents and students follow the rules in the classroom: do not erase any SMS teacher's writing or disturb classroom materials. We need everyone's cooperation!

中文會話初級班

Beginner-Level Conversation Class

北威這學期增開中文會話初級班。 學生將以簡易會話的方式來應用所學的字彙及語法，並學習日常實用會話。 上課時間是十一點到十二點。 這門課由康宇偉先生任教。 有興趣的同學請到 227 室報到。

This semester we have added a new elective class with a focus on beginner-level conversation. It is designed to help students apply their vocabulary and sentence patterns in a practical, day-to-day manner. It takes place from 11:00 to 12:00 in Room 227; the instructor is Robert Candee. Anyone interested should come to Room 227 at 11:00 AM this Saturday. Questions regarding registration and fees should be directed to the office.

中華文化隊招生

Chinese Culture Team

歡迎本校八到十一年級的同學加入中華文化隊。 你將會學習古詩， 成語， 人物史實， 地理， 飲食， 國劇， 文學， 中醫等題材。 這支文化隊將于明年五月代表本校與其他中文學校競賽� C競賽模式是摸擬“ Jeopardy ”。 有興趣的同學請在下課時到 225 室向孫旭輝先生報名。

We welcome students from grades 8 to 11 to join this team. Team members will learn Chinese poetry, history, geography, food and cuisine, opera, literature, medicine, and related topics. The Team will represent NWCS at the ACS Annual Meeting (Memorial Day weekend 2006) and will compete with student groups from other Chinese schools in the Northeast. The competition will be in a "Jeopardy" style. Please see Mr. Hsu-Huei Sun at 11:00 in Room 225 if you are interested.

中文拼音專題

Seminar on PinYin

出於大家熱烈的回響， 本校將于十月十五日再度舉辦中文拼音專題。 這項專題著重如何將注音符號轉換為拼音以及可用的中文軟體。 主講人是前任校長黃允武。 這 項專題將于十到十一點在220室舉行。

Due to popular demand, a seminar on PinYin will be offered on 10/15/05 to interested parents. Emphasis will be on converting Zhu Yin Fu Hao ("bopomofo") to PinYin. Our former principal, Woody Hwang, will conduct this informative session. Woody will also discuss software used for typing Chinese characters. The seminar will take place from 10:00 to 11:00 in Room 220.

Tutoring

您的孩子做功課需要輔導嗎？ 或是您希望有人幫他/她練習中文？ 我們目前有六位輔導員可以幫助您的孩子。 如果您有興趣，請帶您的孩子十一點下課后到220室。 我們還需要更多的輔導員。 十一年級的同學如果有興趣，請到辦公室報名。

Does your child need help with his or her Chinese homework? Does he/she simply need a buddy to practice Chinese after class? We currently have 6 tutors available to help your child. Come to Room 220 between 11:00 and 12:00. We also encourage anyone in the 11th grade who is interested in becoming a tutor to contact the office for details.

  1. 消防演習將于本周（十月一日）?行。 請各班老師查看教室?的疏散路?圖。 上課前預告學生， 警鈴響時帶領學生迅速疏散到室外。 所有的家長也需立刻離開大樓。 在大樓外等待時， 所有的學生必須跟老師待在一起。 演習的過程中， 請大家保持良好制序。 所有的學生， 教職員， 及家長必須等到演習完畢才能?到大樓?。
    A fire drill is scheduled for this Saturday, October 1. We ask that every teacher review the evacuation map in your classroom in advance. Please inform your students of the drill at the beginning of class and, once the alarm goes off, lead them out of the building in an orderly manner. All parents are also required to evacuate promptly. It is extremely important that everyone remain outside until the drill is finished. We need your cooperation in order to pass the fire drill requirement. Thank you very much.
