Head Teacher
董事會日前決議設立首席教師代表職。?此項職位已由全體教師投票選出代表人選。?本學年首席教師代表是黃潤韻老師。 黃老師將輔導及協助本校老師，並促進教師與董事會之間的溝通。
The Board of Directors has created a new "Head Teacher" position for this school year. Ms Vera Hwang, 8A teacher, was elected at the NWCS Teachers' Conference as the Head Teacher for 2005-06. She will provide assistance and guidance to all teachers and serve as a vital communication channel between teachers and the Board.

Parent-on-duty has been an important tradition at NWCS. Every parent's participation is key to the success of the school. We ask that you check the Parent Duty roster in advance and fulfill your duty accordingly. If a schedule conflict arises, it is your responsibility to make the necessary prior arrangements. For more details, please see the Descriptions of On-Duty Parents' Tasks page on the NWCS website. (Follow the link from the Parent Duty Roster). As a reminder, the Parents on duty for the weeks of 9/17 and 9/24 are:

務網路化工作小組
e-School Work Group
有興趣參與校務網路化工作小組的家長﹐ 請向吳振藩董事報名。
The school is developing a web-based interactive system for many school adminstrative processes. Parents interested in web application and database design and development, please contact board member Dr. Eric Wu.

Message: New Principal!
“我很榮幸的向大家宣佈，經過慎重的討論及投票，董事會在九月十日熱烈通過任命鄭天人先生?本學年度的校長。鄭先生及他的家庭在過去十年中一直為北威貢獻心力，他擔任過訓導主任及書法課的老師，過去三年來鄭先生擔任本校董事，他的夫人，Kate， 也曾任本校的老師。雖然校長職的正式確認仍然要等到十一月十九日的家長大會，但是以鄭先生的資歷，才幹及熱忱，我相信他決對能帶領北威邁向成功的一年。讓我們在此感謝鄭先生臨危受命，也預祝鄭先生順利通過家長大會的投票做為本校的領導人。”

It gives me great pleasure to inform all NWCS families that Mr. Tien-Jen Cheng has accepted the appointment of the position of Principal of NWCS for the 2005-2006 school year. The appointment of Mr. Cheng as the Principal was the overwhelming result of a vote among directors during the Board meeting on September 10th, 2005. Mr. Cheng and his family have been major contributors to NWCS in many ways for over 10 years. For the past three years, Mr. Cheng has been a director of the NWCS board. Before that, he was the Calligraphy teacher and a counselor. His wife, Kate, has also been an NWCS teacher. While an election during the next general meeting is still needed to confirm Mr. Cheng as Principal, I have no doubt that with his experience, dedication and talent, Mr. Cheng will be an excellent leader of our school. Let's congratulate him in advance!

加退選課程
Adding/Dropping Classes
中文學校新學期的加退選今天開始﹐ 需要辦理的家長請到辦公室來找註冊組長施小萍女士。
NWCS will start to accept adding/dropping of enrollments for the new semester. If you need to add or drop a class, please come to the office to see the Registrar, Ms. Shiauping Shih. Add/Drop forms may be found on our website at http://www.nynwcs.org/forms/AddDropForm.pdf

- 因?本學年一年級和八，九年級採用新的教材，費用增加。 因此學校將拙收費用。 一年級每位學生需繳 $15,
八，九年級每位學生需繳 $35。 請將支票交給您小孩的老師。
Due to the increased cost of new textbooks and materials for certain classes, each student in the 1st and 2nd grades will be charged $15; similarly, students in the 8th and 9th grades will be charged $35. Tzu-Chi Foundation will hold a charity fund raising for Hurricane Katrina's victims in Cafeteria from 9:30 to 11:00. - 北威獎學金申請截止日期是十月八日。
The deadline for applying NWCS Scholarship is 10/8/2005.
