Election of New Board Members

May 26, 2005

Dear NWCS Parents,

Due to a number of unforeseen situations at the recent Spring General Meeting, we did not have enough time to complete the election of board members. The board will always uphold the school policies and abide by the by-laws. I apologize for the delay of the election and voting process.

After an extensive process of review and consultation with the board, I have decided to hold a short general meeting for a re-election and voting at our next school session, June 4. The meeting will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 in the cafeteria. The board has sealed and forfeited the ballots collected during the last meeting. New ballots will be handed out during the next meeting session.

During the next general meeting, we need to complete the following:

Complete the election process for five new board members and one board secretary
Approve the tuition increase ($30 per student per school year) for the upcoming school year.

A couple of the board member candidates have considered withdrawing their candidacy. The current standing of the board member and secretary candidates is as follows: Woody Huang, Rong Chang, Lyman Chen, Rene Yip, Siew Leng Chuah, Pei-Lei Du, Ifay Chang, and Felicia Meyers (running for Secretary). Jun-Jang Jeng and Genevieve Matsumoto have withdrawn from the election. The Board has nominated Rene Yip to replace Genevieve as a candidate for board member and Felicia Meyers for board secretary. During the next General Meeting, each board candidate will spend a couple minutes to introduce themselves so that you have a chance to get acquainted with them before the election.
