家長大會

General Meeting

家長大會將於本週六五月十四日， 早上十時至十一時三十分在餐廳舉行。 十時至十一時， 董事會主席， 校長和財務將提出報告。 十一時至十一時三十分， 請所有老師與家長票選下屆秘書和五位董事。

The general meeting will be held at the cafeterial from 10:00 to 11:30 this Saturday, 5/14/05. The reports from the chair of the board, the principal and the treasurer will take place from 10:00 to 11:00. From 11:00 to 11:30 all teachers can join the parents for the elections of the secretary and five board members.

亞裔文化節

Asian American Heritage Festival

亞裔文化節將於五月二十八日上午十一時至下午六時，藉 Kensico Dam Park (Valhalla) 舉行，免費入場。

The annual Asian American Heritage Festival will be held Saturday, May 28, 2005 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Kensico Dam Park in Valhalla. Admission and parking are free.

Family Activities: Ideas Needed

有家長反映， 本校一向缺乏課堂外家庭活動， 讓大家相互交宜。 我門在此向大家公開徵求意見。 如果您知道有任何校方可以舉辦的家庭交宜或是文化交流的活動， 請不吝向董事或自校長職員告知， 我們將僅量採納。

We have received comments that NWCS as a community provides very few activities that provide families opportunities for cultural learning and to bond with one another. We are open to fresh ideas about such activities that the school can sponsor in order to promote bonding and cultural experiences within the NWCS community. Please contact any board member or school staff if you have any such ideas.

父母聊天室

Parents' Chatroom

曾在本校多次開辦親職班的林安禮老師, 在上週六,闢一個 “父母聊天室”。 歡迎所有對如何幫助孩子成長﹐ 如何管教 孩子﹐ 如何改善親子關係﹐ 如何和孩子溝通這些 課題有興趣的家長自由參加. 父母聊天室 除了提供大家交換心得經驗的機會之外,還有許多這方面的書籍錄音帶出借﹐ 歡迎 大家充分利用。

時間﹕ 每週六早上 9:15 到 10:30﹔ 地點﹕ 223 室。

Ms AnLi Lin, who has previously led Parenting Club sessions at our school, has organized a "Parents' Chatroom" starting this Saturday. All parents who are interested in discussing how to help their children grow, how to discipline their children, and how to communicate with their children, are invited to attend.

The "Parents' Chatroom", besides giving parents the opportunity to exchange their experiences and lessons learned, will also make available for reference many books and tapes in these subject areas.

The "Parents' Chatroom" will be held weekly, from 9:15 to 10:30 in Room 223.

Ms Lin has a background in psychology and counselling, along with many years of experience in teaching Parenting education.

美東中文學校協會年會

ACS Annual Conference

美東中文學校協會第三十二屆年會，將於今年五月二十八即二十九兩日在紐約聖約翰大學隆重舉行。 本校鼓勵老師職員踴躍參加，並與補助。 補助金額于日後董事會決定（參考：去年補助金額是125元）。 家長也歡迎參加，但校方不予補助。請有意參加者根校長聯絡。

ACS (Association of Chinese School) annual conference will be held at St. Johns University in Queens on 5/28 and 5/29. We encourage our teachers and staff to go to the conference; thus the school normally reimburses them for some of their expenses. The exact amount of reimbursement will be determined later by the Board. For reference, each conference attendee from NWCS last year was reimbursed $125. Parents who wish to go are more than welcome to do so as well; however, the school will be not able to reimburse parents. Please contact the principal if you want to participate in this event.
