Breakfast/Lunch Club Leaders Needed

In order for the Breakfast/Lunch Club to continue after this semester, we need two people to come forward to run the program. The transfer of responsibilities will take effect in March 2005. We will ask the two new chair people to come in the remainder of the year, as needed, to work with Dolly and Angela to make the transition. The rest of the breakfast/lunch club volunteers will still continue to help, as they do now.

The children, as well as the parents, have enjoyed the benefit of having hot breakfasts and lunches thanks to Dolly Lean, Angela Doong, Vicky Lin, Teresa Lin, Emily Kok, Lilian Pittius, Wang Tai Hwa, Connie Wang, May Goldberg, Mr. & Mrs. Tiek Tung, Vice Principal Chang, Rita Chen, Yang Li Lin and Mei-Mei.

It is a great benefit to the school to have the Breakfast/Lunch Club; if you can help continue this service, please contact either Dolly Lean at (203) 207-4628 or Angela Doong at (914) 381-4556.

Year-end Schedule

Due to the two snow days this term, we have been forced to delay our Chinese New Year activities to this Saturday. However, the gym and cafeteria in both the middle school and high school are prebooked by other groups, and we have been unable to make other arrangements with the school district. Thus our schedule for this Saturday is:

9:00-11:00 - Finals or regular classes

11:15-12:30 - Luncheon party at the Imperial Wok and raffle ticket drawing to send off our high school graduates (We need your response for a head count today, Friday, 28 Jan 2005.)

(11am-12pm elective classes are CANCELLED)

1:00-2:00 - Graduation ceremony at Somer High School auditorium

(2:00pm-3:00pm) student performances are CANCELLED

We have reached an agreement with the Somers school district to use the Somers high school auditorium one full Saturday afternoon sometime this Spring. We will use that occasion to have our student performances and the Chinese opera.

The cost of the luncheon is not yet set but will likely be $8 per adult and $5 per child. The original dinner party and opera tickets are refundable and can be used for the luncheon party.

We need to inform the restaurant how many people will be attending, so they know how much food to prepare. Each class parent should have contacted each family to get a headcount. If you have not been contacted, please contact the Prinicpal, Woody Huang, today, Friday, 28 Jan 2005, to as to how many adults and how many children are going to Imperial Wok on Saturday at 11:15!
