Seminar

專題講座於本週六﹐ 十二月四日十點至十點四十五分在 220 教室舉行。 講員是大都會保險與理財公司張荔揚女士﹐ 題目是「你的家屬是否有保障?」﹐ 歡迎家長參加。

We will hold a seminar this Saturday, 12/4/2004, in Room 220 from 10:00-10:45. The speaker will be Susy Chang, Senior Financial Services Executive, MetLife. The topic will be "Are Your Loved Ones Protected?"

消防演習

Fire Drill

我們將於本週六﹐ 十二月四日上午九點三十分舉行消防演習。 疏散路線圖將張貼於各教室內，請教師們參閱，並於演習時，按指定的出入口疏散。

We will hold a fire drill around 9:30 this Saturday, 12/4/2004. Teachers, please check the fire escape map posted in your classroom, and have your class exit according to the map during the drill.

部分 2004-2005 年度通訊錄有缺頁，請各位家長檢查您所拿到的通訊錄。 如有缺頁，請到辦公室換取。 假如您需任何更正，請與註冊組施小萍女士聯絡。

It has been brought to our attention that some directories distributed two weeks ago are missing pages. We urge parents to check your copy for any errors or missing pages. If yours is missing pages, please come to the office to exchange it for a new copy. If there are any corrections, please contact the Registrar, Ms Shiauping Shih.

北威背誦比賽

Speech Contest

本學期學藝競賽將於下週六十二月十一日舉行。 比賽及評分標準共分三組﹕低年級組(一到四年級)，中年級組(五到七年級)，高年級組(八到十二年級)。 題目及背頌內容﹕按年級程度的不同，老師會將題材通知各班。 評分標準﹕ 發音 (40%)，表達能力 (40%)，背誦能力 (20%) 比賽成績前三名者將發給獎狀及獎座﹐ 其他則發給參加獎。 歡迎全班參加比賽。

Our school-wide academic contest will be held next week, 12/11/04. Students are grouped into three levels: Level I (Grades 1-4), Level II (Grades 5-7) and Level III (Grades 8-12). Students will be provided a small selection of articles from which to choose, to memorize and orally present to a live audience, including judges composed of faculty and docent members. The articles, which will vary in subject and content by grade level, will be distributed by the classroom teachers. The criteria include Pronunciation (40%), Intonation/Expression (40%), and Memorization/Accuracy (20%). There will be three winners in each level. Placement Certificates and prizes will be awarded at a later date. All students are encouraged to take part.

新年晚會節目

New Year's Party Program

今年新年晚會﹐ 學校將邀請國劇團參與演出﹐ 演出戲碼包括孫悟空和拾玉鐲。 入場費: 成人$10﹐ 北威家庭的孩童免費﹐ 非北威家庭的孩童收費$5。 請家長們邀請朋友觀賞。 除了十二年級生以外﹐ 其他各班級將自行決定是否參與晚會的節目。晚會仍有古箏, 吉他, 舞蹈, 及功夫的表演。

We have invited a local professional Chinese Opera group to give a performance in this year's New Year's Show. They will perform two acts, "The Monkey King" and "Picking Up A Jade Bracelet". Because of the cost of this performance, we will charge $10 for each adult for entrance. We will also charge $5 for each child that is not from our NWCS families. Children from NWCS families will be not be charged. We encourage parents to invite their friends to come enjoy the show. Our usual class performances will be optional this year, with the exception of the 12th grade. We will still have Table Harp, Guitar club, Dance Class and, possibly, Kungfu performances.
