加退選課程

Add/Drop Classes

中文學校新學期的加退選本週繼續﹐ 需要辦理的家長請到辦公室來找註冊組長施小萍女士。

NWCS is currently accepting add/drop enrollments for the new semester. If you need to add or drop a class, please come to the office to see the Registrar, Ms Shiauping Shih. Enrollment forms may be found on our website at http://www.nynwcs.org/forms/AddDropForm2004.pdf

輔導室

Study Hall

學校正計劃成立輔導室。於每周六早上十一點至十二點﹐由 8 至 12 年級的學長指導低年級的學弟妹做中文作業。學校將發于社區服務證書給志願參與的同學。有興趣的同學請早上到辦公室 (216 教室) 向副校長張振坤報名。

The school is organizing a study hall. Students in 8th grade and above are eligible to sign up to help other students with Chinese homework between 11:00 and 12:00 on Saturdays. The school will issue a community service certificate to the participating students. To sign up, please come to Room 216 in the morning to see the Vice Principal, ChenKun Chang.

Advertisements Needed

2004-2005 學年度通訊錄誠徵廣告。若您有認識的律師﹐ 餐館﹐ 牙醫師﹐ 或房地產仲介有興趣在通訊錄刊登廣告﹐ 請找註冊組長施小萍女士﹐ 留下他們的聯絡電話﹐ 以便校方與他們聯繫。廣告版面可分全版 ($220-$280)﹐ 半版 ($140-$160)﹐ 四分一版 ($70-$80)﹐ 睿匐分一版 ($40-$50)。

We need ads for our 2004-2005 student directory. We are asking families who know any attorneys, restaurants, dentists, realtors, or others who may be interested in having an ad in our directory, to let them know about this advertising opportunity. If they are interested please forward their phone numbers to our registrar Ms Shiauping Shih so she can contact them to discuss the details. We can print full page ($220-$280), half page ($140-$160), quarter page ($70-$80) or eighth page ($40-$50) ads.

特別講員

Special Speaker

學校邀請了一位知名講員﹐ 於十月十六日分別對九﹐ 十﹐ 十一年級的同學分享他學中文的經歷。這位講員沒有中國人血統﹐ 而且在大學才開始學中文。也歡迎家長參加。時間和教室如下: 10:00-10:20 於 242 教室; 10:20-10:40 於 314 教室; 10:40-11:00 於 323 教室。

On 10/16/2004, we have invited a very accomplished Chinese speaker to give separate talks to the 9th, 10th & 11th graders. This gentleman grew up without Chinese heritage and only started to learn Chinese since college. He will share his experience with our upper-grade students. Parents are welcome to attend his talk 10:00-10:20 in Room 242, 10:20-10:40 in Room 314 or 10:40-11:00 in Room 323. Parents are welcome to enter these classrooms at their respective times to attend the talks.

北威獎學金

NWCS Scholarship

北威獎學金將要截止申請。資格符合的學生﹐請向董事鄭天人報名。

The deadline for applying for an NWCS scholarship is approaching. Qualified students should contact Board member Tien-Jen Cheng for more information and to submit your applications.

運動衫設計比賽結果揭曉

Logo Design Contest Results

恭喜十一年級的吳思樺同學贏得北威中文學校 T-shirt 設計比賽首獎五十元。吳同學的設計極為可愛﹐將出現在本校的 T-shirt 上﹐請拭目以待。

Congratulations to Michelle Wu from the 11th grade for winning the NWCS T-shirt logo contest. Her very attractive design finished in first place and won her the $50 prize. Our NWCS T-shirts with her logo will be available later this semester!

購買字典

Dictionaries

有意購買遠東英漢字典者﹐請到辦公室 (216 教室) 向教務主任黃潤韻購買。每本21元。

If you would like to purchase a copy of the "Far Eastern English/Chinese Dictionary", please see the Academic Dean, Vera Hwang, in the school office, Room 216. The cost is $21 per copy.

家長旁聽規則

Parent Class Participation

學校原則上不鼓勵家長進入教室旁聽。在徵求老師的同意下﹐ 家長可以坐在教室後面旁聽。請不要隨意發問問題﹐影響上課秩序。謝謝家長的合作。

The school does not encourage parents to sit in on classes. However, with the teacher's permission, parents may sit in the classroom. If parents are in the classroom, please sit in the back of the classroom and refrain from asking questions during regular class time. Your cooperation is appreciated.
