Chinese Painting and Calligraphy

國畫書法(書畫)課有必修班同選修班兩種。北威所有六年級學生都得上一年必修書畫課。七歲以上任何人都可以上選修課。

必修課程
第一學期基本書法，第二學期學生可依其興趣自行決定工書法或國畫。

1) 書法	學生從如何正確拿毛筆開始，用描紅為範本做初步練習，學習如何起筆，運筆，回筆等。程度較高的學生可以隨意臨各式碑帖。
2) 國畫	學生可以從畫冊及畫稿中隨意挑選各人喜歡的樣本臨模。學生如不知怎麼開始，老師可以逐步式範。

選修課程
依各個學生程度及興趣，學生可以隨意臨模各式碑帖或國畫樣本。

第	1-4	週以山水為主。老師逐步式範。
第	5-8	週以寫意為主。老師逐步式範。
第	9-11	週以工筆為主。老師逐步式範。
第	12-14	週依學生所須而定。

English:

The Painting and Calligraphy class has two courses -- mandatory and elective. All sixth grade students are required to take the mandatory course for a year. The elective course is open to anybody above the age of seven.

Mandatory course
The first semester consists of basic calligraphy. In the second semester the students choose what painting or calligraphy they wish to perform according to their interests.

1) Calligraphy:	Students start by learning how to properly hold a brush. Then, using an existing outline as a model, they practice the initial steps of starting a stroke, carrying a stroke, concluding a stroke, etc. More advanced students can follow various models according to their interests.
2) Painting:	Students choose to follow examples from a selection of models. If students do not know how to start, the teacher will demonstrate a step-by-step procedure.

Elective course
Depending on individual level and interest the student chooses models to follow.

Week 1-4	concentrate on scenery. The teacher will demonstrate.
Week 5-8	concentrate on impression. The teacher will demonstrate.
Week 9-11	concentrate on finery. The teacher will demonstrate.
Week 12-14	students choose their own work.
